This is a real easy project for kids, it doesn't take
too long so kids won't loose interest. Start by finding a hard-cover book
to transform. We went to our local dump (transfer station) and found one
in the "swap shop". |
|
|
First we measured how thick our book was with out the
hard covers. Then we ripped a piece of 1X4 stock to the proper width. Then
we measured a page and made this frame the same size. |
|
While the glue was drying we (me!) carefully removed
all but the first two pages. Work carefully so as not to damage the binding. |
|
|
Glue the wooden frame to the back part of the hard cover,
use a couple of nails thru the cover into the wood if you want. Then carefully
line up the binding part of the cover with the edge of the frame and glue
that in place. I like T-88
epoxy, works very well. |

Here's the best part, his smiling face! Enjoy! |
