sold Exclusively at Home Depot 

Hazard: The return spring on the circular saw’s lower blade guard can break, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

Campbell Hausfeld Recalls Air Compressors

Sold at: Wal-Mart stores nationwide from January 2009 through June 2009 for about $250.

Hazard: The compressor’s thermal overload, which shuts the unit off when it overheats, can fail. This can lead to overheating, melting of parts and a risk of fire.

Wagner Spray Tech Recalls Heat Guns

Sold at: Major and independent hardware and home improvement stores nationwide from November 2004 through April 2009 for about $40.

Hazard: An electrical component failure inside the heat guns can cause them to continue to produce heat after the power switch is turned off.

Menards Cordless Screwdrivers Recalled 

Hazard: The battery can overheat and ignite during charging, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers. There is no protective device on the lithium battery to prevent overheating.

DEWALT Recalls Cordless Brad Nailers

Hazard: The nailer can operate when the lock-off (safety) is in the locked position. Also, the nailer can operate when the trigger is not pulled and the contact trip is depressed. The unexpected ejection of a nail poses a serious injury hazard to consumers.

DEWALT Recalls Framing Nailers

Hazard: The bump action trigger on the framing nailers could have been incorrectly assembled during production, which would allow the nailer to eject a fastener unexpectedly or cause the trigger lock-off not to function. This can pose a serious injury hazard to the user or bystander.

DEWALT Recalls Table Saws

The pivot bracket on the saw can separate which can misalign the blade and the fence and cause kick back. This poses a laceration hazard to consumers.

Recalls Air Compressors Following Fires
 Protective covers on the compressor’s motor are not made from proper flame retardant material and can ignite, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
The firm has received 11 reports of fires. No injuries have been reported.

Cummins  Mini 2-Galllon Pancake Air Compressors risk of fire hazard
An undersized power cord can overheat and pose a fire hazard. In addition, improper assembly of the power cord strain relief component and improper routing of internal conductors can cause a shock hazard to consumers.

Remove Label from Craftsman Circular Saws!

The “Craftsman” logo label located on the upper blade guard can become partially detached and interfere with the proper operation of the lower blade guard, exposing the saw’s blade and posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

Throat Plates Sold with Ryobi Router Tables
Hazard: The throat plates do not securely snap into the router’s table top bit opening. The throat plate can come loose during operation and be ejected from the table top, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

Name of Product: DeVilbiss Air Power Company Pressure Washers and Air Compressors with pneumatic tires and plastic hubs.
Units: About 620,000 pressure washers and 72,000 air compressors
Manufacturer: DeVilbiss Air Power Company, of Jackson, Tenn.
Hazard: The pressure washers and air compressors have pneumatic tires with plastic hubs that can burst, posing a laceration or fracture hazard to consumers.

Sliding Miter Saws
The saw handle’s switch can fail, causing the saw to smoke, spark, and trip circuit breakers, and disable the safety brake. The saw also can keep operating unless the unit is unplugged, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.       More here!
WMH Tool Group Inc. Recalls Wilton Mitre Saws for Laceration Hazard
Hazard: The aluminum cast pivot joint that connects the base of the saw to the head assembly (which contains the saw blade) can crack under extreme pressure or force, causing the blade assembly to unexpectedly break free from the stationary base. This poses a laceration hazard to consumers.

Name of Product: DeWalt DW378G/DW378GT Framing Saws 
and DC300 Circular Saws
Hazard: The lower blade guard can fail to close, leaving the blade exposed and presenting a laceration hazard to consumers.

Ryobi Radial Arm Saws Recalled for Blade Detachment Hazard
Cracking of the plastic motor housing can cause the blade assembly to fall during operation, posing a risk of laceration to the operator or bystanders. The detachment may occur unexpectedly and without warning.

Safety Alert: Porter-Cable Cordless Nailer 
The nailer can eject a nail while the switch is in the “off” position if the trigger is pulled and it is placed on a surface. This can pose a serious injury to consumers or bystanders.

Two  recalls are in effect involving  Robert Bosch Tool Corp. 
Both involviing safty warning labels. 
The first is for Abrasive Cut-Off Wheels, with the name  Vermont American®
and the second is for 
Vermont American® Masonry Drill Bits that also lack the Safety Warning Label

Recall Notice!
A recall is in effect involving the Porter Cable 890 Series Routers. The motor coil insulation can be worn away by motor vibration, posing a shock hazard.

 If you own a Skil® Table Saw with model number 3400 printed on the front side of the table base, it has been recalled for repairs.

Sears Craftsmen Radial Arm Saw

Emerson Tool Co. (ETC) is providing a repair kit for a new blade guard or $100 to owners of certain Craftsman® 8", 8¼", 9", and 10" Radial Arm Saws. Sears sold the 8, 9, and 10-inch saws from 1958 through 1992. The 8¼" saws were sold from 1990 through 1995.

 These saws were sold without a guard that covers the entire blade. Some consumers have contacted the blade or have been hit by wood kicked back by the saws, resulting in amputations, fractures and lacerations. 

A new guard and replacement bench top are available with no cost to the consumer!

 Milwaukee Electric Tool Corp. has received four reports of drill switches sticking in the on position and one report of a hand injury. DEWALT has received three reports of drill switches sticking in the on position but no reported injuries.

The drills were sold under the brand names, Milwaukee Electric Tool 1/2" drills and DEWALT 1/2" Stud & Joist Drills.
